Last Saturday was Jerls’ Owvle EP launch and it was definitely a fruit of passion and labour on his part to pull this through - Sneak Preview

This is also a reminder that I have to get my own production work going and come out with an EP of my own. Wish I could ditch my day job and clock in all the studio hours to get more done!

The design that Trase One did for 1st Anniversary bash went down well. I still have party-goers of that night coming up to me and shared how much they love the idea. Initially, we were exploring the possibility of his design on tees. In the end, we decided having it on party spray cans which were then given out to the people on the floor.

I also did a mixset which was supposed to be for Sonar radio. It was kind of a late submission, so didn’t make it to the broadcast. Hence I put up the hour-long set on Mixcloud for those who dig what I usually play from early to the peak hours of the night at my monthly residency in the club.

Good to have Trase One over to work on the design aesthetics for the upcoming birthday bash of I ♥ DUBSTEP. Just like the music that resonates with the youth, his work represents the kind free spirit lurking within us. To top it off, he was recently featured in the French TV network where he led the camera crew to the streets of Singapore and explained how he worked around the constraints and spaces to put up his work (Video).  

This is an extraordinary piece of documentary work that puts our local art agencies to shame. Can they beat the french folks who even come out with an iPhone application, All City Street Art and Graffiti where they gather users to view, tag and share interesting street art in their region?

After Chinese New Year, comes a great chance to drop future garage set before SBTRKT & Sampha’s live performance. Perhaps I could borrow their famous masks for photo session too. Drrrreaming…

This month onwards, I’ll joined Home Club as one of the residents for I ❤ Dubstep. Although the night has cemented itself as the musical benchmark among the bassheads in Singapore, there is always the challenge to drop a set that adds good variation to the monthly line-up. 

Besides regular residents Jerls & Darren Dubwise, guests gracing the decks will be North London DJ Deville, one of the co-owners of Senseless Records as well as drum n bass homeboy, Andy Vortex of Qilin label / Exitmusik.com fame. Details here.

If you are thinking of ushering the year 2012 with bass music in all its myriad forms, there could be no better place to be than Home Club. If you are heading to Zoukout this year, do pop by the Ray-Ban VIP tent for music and drinks. Made up of 2 levels, the top is the DJ console, facing the sea while the bottom is where the visuals dazzle and the guests mingle. Here’s the music line-up from dust till dawn:
