Lots of tunes coming through my inbox. It’s crazy how producers or labels these days can chunk out tune after tune within a space of a few months. Especially for EDM genre, a lot of tunes are so disposable or forgettable. The worst ones are those that get stuck in your head and make you wish you have never heard them in the first place.
Lush Radio show is definitely one of the gigs that I always look forward to. Without the pressure of a dancefloor, the set is usually a lot more closer to what I enjoy on my own music player. This Saturday, a team of SAE students will be acccompanying me into the studio for some filming, so you’ll get to see some footage of the studio on my presskit soon!

Along with other Singaporean producers, one of my production work was played at this special Lush 99.5 FM edition of Clubscape, broadcasted at the International Radio Festival in Zurich. Good thing that the show is archived on mixcloud. If you wonder which of my tunes is on the playlist, it appears around 1:38:32.

Lush Studio has moved back to Caldecott Hill - a place with a history of broadcasting since the 1930s. Not sure why they got out of Orchard Central, which is a more convenient location for all the DJs. In the meantime, I have gotten my set ready and sent over to the station for airing this Saturday.
For this round, there’s quite a bit of southern rap and pitched up or down vocals along with crisp snares and heavy sub-bass that will rattle your soundsystem. The hipster music fans have termed the style as TRAP music. For me, it sounds just like the good old spirit of Hip Hop riding along the 140ish tempo while giving any Bass or Dubstep set an interesting variation. At the end of it, what matters most is the joy of putting together a set of tunes and sharing them with the keen ears out there.

Starting from 90ish bpm and ending at 140ish bpm, here’s my selection of Future Garage, Bass, Breaks and Dubstep for the Lush mix at the station last Saturday. To remember the fun-loving and creative spirit of MCA who passed away recently, I threw in a favourite Beastie Boy track into the set. Enjoy the ride…

Here’s my debut set for Lushmix. I was a bundle of nerves, so pardon the shaky start in the first track due to loose RCA wire connection and then weird tempo setting. Hope y’all still enjoy the sounds nonetheless.

A Taste of Lush (ATOL) on Clubscape is a radio segment hosted by X’Ho. This was also my first time getting interviewed and then jammed with a musician on national radio. It was a lot of fun to be accompanied by Hafez Masterpiece who blended his vocals & effects to my set while I dropped tunes. For those who miss the show, the set will be posted up on Mixcloud once I get hold of the recording.
Another good piece of news to share is my bi-monthly Lush Mix line-up for the station. This is another great avenue to push for the post dubstep or future garage side of things to the listeners out there.
